Brice Pryszo was born in Bayonne on March 12, 1952. From a very young age he discovered the joys of sailing in the Basque Country.
Driven by this passion, he participated in the creation of the naval architect course during his time at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1972)
As soon as he finished his studies, back in his native Basque country, he began his professional career and designed his first boats.
The advent of personal computing made him aware in 1984 of the gigantic technological potential to come. It was quite natural for him to decide to embark on a new professional adventure combining the sectors of Maritime Navigation and IT. He thus created the company "Informatique et Mer" on January 3, 1985.
The company's first investments were the purchase of the third Macintosh 128k sold in France in the spring of 1984 (in addition to the Macintosh Lisa for development). These revolutionary machines allowed it to develop a first prototype of the MACSEA software which would be tested on board "Crédit Agricole" in 1985 and then very quickly by Philippe Poupon and Eric Tabarly. The MACSEA software gradually became a reference in the high-performance sailing sector.
Following these initial commercial successes, the company turned to the professional fishing sector by working in collaboration with fishermen from the port of Hendaye (notably Mr Blanchot). The challenge of installing a computer on a fishing vessel in 1986 was a big one! "Informatique et Mer" succeeded in this challenge and naturally continued its growth by equipping fishing vessels internationally (notably in Northern Europe).
Between 1996 and 1999, given the hegemony of Microsoft Windows in the global IT landscape, MACSEA abandoned the Mac platform and became MaxSea.
"Informatique et Mer" became "MaxSea International" in 2001 in order to turn even more towards foreign markets by giving itself a more "exportable" name.
In 2013, MaxSea returned to its first love Apple by launching its first MaxSea Application for IPAD.
The adventure continues…
